Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique and instrument handling before, during, and after surgery. You will work across multiple service lines including orthopedics, cardiovascular, neurosurgery and more, ensuring quality patient care and sterile field maintenance throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or eligible program completion with 6 months of OR experience in lieu of education, and certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in surgical technology or equivalent with credentialing eligibility.
• 6 months recent OR experience may substitute for formal education.
• Licensed or certifiable as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsabilités

• Check supplies and equipment needed for the procedure and anticipate problem areas.
• Maintain sterile technique and promptly report any compromise.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies and equipment before patient entry.
• Label and prepare medications under RN supervision and assist as directed by surgeon.
• Perform counts with the RN Circulator prior to incision closure.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, and assist with suturing under CFA duties when applicable.
• Assist team with patient positioning, wound dressing and post-operative documentation.
• Provide timely, accurate reports on all patients to incoming staff and maintain room readiness.
• Foster positive relationships with health care customers and participate in clinical education activities.
