Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to handle instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after procedures across multiple service lines. The role requires sterile technique, teamwork with the OR staff, and attention to patient safety in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Education includes an Associate's Degree or completion of a Surgical Technologist Program, with 6 months of OR experience allowed in lieu of education.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Surgical Technologist Program completion.
• 6 months surgical tech experience in lieu of education.
• Certified Surgical Technologist preferred (AST or NBSTSA).

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure as per preference card.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique and reports any compromise.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies and equipment prior to patient entry.
• Assists surgeon during operation and hands instruments as directed.
• Performs counts with RN Circulator prior to incision and closure.
• Restocks room and supports inner core duties.
