Job summary

The role handles instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after procedures, ensuring sterile fields and assisting surgeons across multiple service lines including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and more.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree or be a graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program, with 6 months of OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Surgical Technology or completion of a Surgical Technologist program.
• 6 months surgical tech experience may substitute for education.
• Demonstrates positive working relationships with health care customers.
• Demonstrates self-responsibility for own practice and cost-conscious use of supplies.

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment for the procedure and anticipates needs of the surgeon.
• Maintains sterile technique and reports any compromise immediately.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, and equipment before patient entry.
• Assists the surgeon by handing instruments, retractors, and sutures during the operation.
• Performs duties related to CFA and wound closure under supervision.
• Prepares instruments for transport and participates in post-operative tasks.
