Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe, and efficient area for optimal patient care and sterile field setup.
• Assists in gowning, gloving, draping and passing instruments during procedures.
• Sets up the operating room, moves equipment, and returns equipment after procedures.
• Functions as a Second Assistant as needed.
• Notifies staff of equipment and supply issues.
• Transports patients, equipment, and supplies as required.
• Maintains specialty carts and ensures item availability and sterility.
• Performs patient positioning and lifting with proper technique.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care knowledge according to department standards.
