Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Surgical Technician for the Labor & Delivery unit. The role supports obstetrical procedures, including cesarean sections, by preparing the sterile field, passing instruments, and ensuring equipment readiness under supervision.

Required: high school graduate, Surgical Technician training, CST NBSTSA certification, and BLS/CPR. Preferred: 1 year in a surgical setting with OB/L&D experience. Night shift, full-time with benefits.

Competenze

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical setting; labor and delivery experience highly desirable.
• Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists as CST, NBSTSA required; BLS/CPR certification required.

Mansioni

• Prepares the operating room for OB/GYN procedures and sets up instruments and supplies.
• Scrubs in and maintains aseptic technique during procedures.
• Anticipates needs of the surgical team and passes instruments and supplies.
• Assists with patient positioning, prepping, and draping.
• Performs counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the RN.
• Cares for surgical specimens and restocks supplies after procedures.
• Assists in emergency obstetric situations and neonatal resuscitation readiness.
