Job summary

Swedish Hospital Chicago in Chicago, IL, seeks a Certified Surgical Tech for the Main Operating Room. The role involves preparing instrumentation, assisting surgeons, and scrubbing per physician preference.

Full-time, 7:00am-3:30pm with on-call rotation. Candidates must graduate from an approved surgical technology program, hold American Heart Association CPR, and have prior surgical experience; certification in surgical technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and obtain required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Inspect, care for and handle surgical instrumentation and equipment properly.
• Perform scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation during procedures.
• Provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients across age groups.
