Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Surgical Technologist in the Main Operating Room is responsible for identifying and obtaining the required instrumentation, equipment and supplies for procedures, under physician direction. The role includes scrubbing for operations, anticipating the surgeon's needs, and maintaining a safe environment for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies for procedures based on physicians' requests and patient needs; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures, anticipating surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with patients across age groups.
