Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL seeks a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room on a full-time basis. You will identify, prepare and exchange instruments and supplies for procedures, ensuring a safe, efficient environment.

Requirements include graduation from an approved surgical technology program, current CPR certification, and prior surgical experience. Certification in surgical technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience.
• Certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff. Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures. Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.

Education

Graduate of an approved surgical technology program

Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association

Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience
