Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Main OR. This full-time role runs 10:30am-7pm, Monday-Friday with call responsibilities. CST and BLS credentials are required, and 1+ year OR experience is preferred.

The position is located at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. The CST will provide expert perioperative care as a scrub assistant under RN supervision, ensuring aseptic technique, managing equipment, and supporting patient safety and comfort

Qualifications

• Education: Surgical Technologist program completion.
• Licenses/Certifications: NBSTSA or NCCT certification in Surgical Technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supports unit goals by serving as a resource specialist for OR area/specialty service.
• Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique, advanced surgical techniques and patient care for elective and emergency cases.
• Verifies supplies/instruments/equipment prior to procedures per surgeon’s preference card; applies asepsis principles to optimize patient care.
• Ensures safe patient care within policies and budgetary specs, including time and supply management.
