Job summary

Froedtert Health in Milwaukee at Froedtert Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. This on-site, 0.9 FTE position offers a 36-hour work week with Rotating 3x12s (0630-1900). Call required; holidays and weekends are part of the schedule.

The role collaborates with the surgical team to support patient care, ensure sterile technique, and help deliver high-quality perioperative services in a busy academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical experience is required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide patient care during procedures.
• Support sterile technique and instrument handling to ensure patient safety.
• Assist in perioperative activities as directed by the surgical team.

Job Summary:

As a member of the healthcare team, collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patient insuring that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of the hospital is carried out.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A minimum of 1 year of Surgical experience is required. Experience can come in any combination in a role as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Technician.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

LICENSURE REQUIRED:

Certification as a Surgical Technologist. Surgical Technologist Level 3 staff, or above, with a date of hire or adjusted date of hire prior to 8/1/2020 are not required to be certified, as long as they meet the criteria in the job description. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
