Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to perform direct and indirect technical tasks for patients around surgical interventions in the Pittsburgh area. Responsibilities include inventory management, instrument counts, and assisting the operating room team with setup.

Minimum 3 years of surgical scrub experience and CPR (AHA) certification are required. A CST/TS-C credential is preferred, with ongoing professional requirements for certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum: 3 years surgical scrub specialty experience.
• CPR - American Heart Association certification required.

Responsibilities

• Initiates changes to physician preference list and informs team of changes.
• Maintains inventory for the assigned service area.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count.
• Orients new team members to the service area and directs lower level staff.
• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Scrubs in prescribed manner and hands physician instruments required during surgery.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
