Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operative care before, during, and after procedures. You will handle instrument counts, stock the operating room, and ensure team readiness under supervision.

Hospital experience and CPR are required, with CST/TS-C certification pursued within six months for newer hires. Applicants should have a college/technical certificate in Surgical Technology and may advance to lead roles while maintaining a compliant, patient‑centered

Qualifications

One year certificate from a college or technical school.
CPR certification required (AHA).
Surgical Technologist certification (CST/TS-C) within 6 months for hires after 12/29/2020.
Experience in surgical scrub preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions.
Initiates changes to physician preference list and informs the team (25%).
Maintains inventory for the service area (20%).
Counts sponges, needles, and instruments (15%).
Orients new staff and directs lower level surgical technicians (15%).
Set up operating suite with instruments and supplies (15%).
Scrubs in and hands instruments during surgery (10%).
Performs other duties as assigned (0%).
