Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to scrub and assist surgeons during operative procedures for patients of all ages. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse and maintain strict aseptic technique.

Qualifications include a one-year certificate or equivalent, plus 3-5 years of specialty experience. Certification (CST/TS-C) within 6 months is required, with CPR and HIPAA compliance emphasized. This is a full-time role based in the Pittsburgh area.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years' specialty experience.
• Educational and certification requirements include Accredited Surgical Technologist program completion and nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and assists surgeons on intraoperative procedures across age groups under RN direction.
• Demonstrates competent technical skills and follows aseptic technique with proper specimen handling.
• Assists with preparation of the surgical suite and counts sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Adheres to HIPAA and privacy policies and contributes to department goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
