Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Union West – Surgery Room to support sterile technique and instrument handling. Weekdays are 4x10s; sign-on bonus is eligible based on eligibility. The role is full-time with 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have a Dental High School Diploma or GED, BLS, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, and at least 2 years of OR experience. Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program; military training accepted.
• 2 years operating room experience required.
• Current certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of patient, supplies, instruments and room turnover.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and proper documentation of charges.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep and positioning.
• Performs duties per department policies and procedures.
• Participates in Education and Performance Improvement activities.
