Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time role. The position offers a sign-on bonus dependent on years of experience, with specific commitments for 0–1, 1–2, and 2+ years.

Responsibilities include preparing the operating room, maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with patient positioning, and supporting cost-effective care. Minimum CPR certification is required, and one year of surgical tech experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist experience preferred; one year or more is typical.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Apply aseptic technique and follow standard precautions for medications and specimens.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping, and participate in surgical site verification.
• Anticipate surgeon preferences and update related materials as needed.
• Count sponges, needles and instruments accurately.
• Use resources to promote cost effectiveness and an efficient patient environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
