Job summary

Boys Town is seeking a Surgical Technologist to perform scrub duties in the operating room under the supervision of the RN Circulating Nurse. You will gather supplies, assist the surgeon, and help prepare the OR for procedures while maintaining Joint Commission readiness.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and either graduation from an accredited program or at least two years of OR experience, with strong confidentiality and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical/operating room technician program, and/or minimum of two years experience in an operating room required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and maintenance required.
• CPR (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub and related duties in the operating room under RN Circulating Nurse supervision.
• Identifies and gathers supplies, equipment, and instruments for each operative procedure with the circulating nurse.
• Ensures proper handling of contaminated instruments and room cleaning after cases; performs housekeeping as needed.
• Assists the surgeon by providing instruments and materials in a timely manner.
• Contacts MD staff or RN during emergencies as directed.
