Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support safe and efficient surgical procedures in the operating suite. The role includes assisting nurses, preparing and passing instruments, and ensuring instrument integrity through sterilization and processing.

Candidates should have an accredited Surgical Technologist program and BLS certification; CST/TS-C is preferred. This position requires the ability to work in a high-stress environment with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 1 year of experience required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification (CST or TS-C) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurse with patient care and prepare, transport, position and drape patients for surgery.
• Maintain instruments and supplies, and pass instruments to physician during surgery.
• Assist in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing.
• Prepare operating suite with drapes, solutions and equipment for procedures.
• Receive and process specimens for delivery to the lab.
