Job summary

Qualifications

• Registered by the State Board of Medicine and CST/TS-C/CORST certification.
• Registration by Virginia State Board of Medicine and current CST/TS-C/CORST or CORST.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Surgical Technologist or related scrub tech position.
• 2 years experience preferred as a surgical technologist or related scrub technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Surgical Technology Program or military/LPN training completed.

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile field and gathers supplies for surgical cases.
• Passes instruments to surgeons during surgery.
• Perform counts per policy during surgical cases.
• Serve as resource and preceptor to less experienced Surgical Technologists.
• Take call for routine and high acuity cases after orientation period.
