Job summary

Virginia Urology / Med Atlantic Inc. in Richmond, VA seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to serve as the scrub person, maintaining aseptic technique and a safe operating room.

Responsibilities include OR prep, instrument setup, instrument counts, sterile hand scrub, gowning, draping, room turnover, and providing supplies to the surgeon.

Full-time role with benefits (health insurance, PTO, retirement, professional development); CST certification and VA state registration required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent work experience with sterile technique and instrument knowledge.
• CPR certification current.
• CST certification required.
• Registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Responsibilities

• Routinely functions in the scrub role with sterile technique.
• Assists in OR preparation and instrument setup, counts and aseptic technique.
• Performs surgical hand scrub and gowning for self and team.
• Sets up drape packs and maintains sterile field per surgeon preference.
• Maintains instrument counts and reports any missing or malfunctioning items.
• Assists in room turnover and positioning of patients.
• Provides documentation assistance and supports ongoing education and team communication.
