Zusammenfassung

VCU Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to prepare sterile fields, gather supplies, and hand instruments to the surgeon during operations. You will also perform counts and serve as a preceptor to newer technologists, with on-call duties after orientation and during transitional assignments.

Certification requirements include CST/TS-C/CORST, with state licensure as applicable. Positions cover all three shifts, weekends, and holidays, with scheduling determined by the Nurse Manager.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent or graduate of Surgical Technology Program or military training program or Licensed Practical Nursing Program
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• Certification or Registration by state boards as CST/TS-C/ CORST

Aufgaben

• Sets up sterile field for surgical cases and gathers supplies based on instruments and equipment
• Passes instruments to surgeons during surgery
• Performs count procedures per policy during surgical cases
• Serves as resource and preceptor to less experienced Surgical Technologists
• Takes call for routine and high-acuity cases after orientation period
• Takes independent action under supervision for time/schedule changes and education resources
