Qualifications

• Registration with the Virginia State Board of Medicine.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required OR CST/TS-C/CORST certification.
• Current AHA, BLS, HCP Certification.
• Current CST; TS-C or CORST required for continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up sterile field and gathers supplies for surgical cases.
• Passes instruments to surgeons during surgery.
• Performs count procedures per policy during surgical cases.
• Serves as a resource and preceptor to less experienced Surgical Technologists.
• Takes call for routine and high acuity cases after orientation period.
• Learns and completes assignments during the transitional duty period.

Graduate of Surgical Technology Program
