Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to join our operating room team. This role works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and prepares the sterile field, assists surgeons, and ensures safe, quality patient care during operative procedures.

Ideal candidates have two years of OR scrub experience, are certified for surgical technology, and hold BLS. The position requires readiness to participate in call, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Two years of Operating Room scrub experience or military equivalent within the last three years.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Passes instruments and supplies during surgery and assists as directed.
• Assists with tissue retraction, suctioning, and patient positioning as needed.
• Maintains aseptic technique and ensures sterile field integrity.
• Prepares and handles medications and labeling for intraoperative use.
• Coordinates with surgeons and anesthesia team during procedures.
• Cleans and sets up operating room and equipment for procedures.
• Ensures accurate counting of instruments, sharps, and materials before and after procedures.
• Provides guidance and support to OR team members throughout cases.
