Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. The role requires maintaining strict aseptic technique, assisting in instrument and supply management, and supporting the nurse circulator with patient preparation and room turnover.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and completion of an accredited surgical technology program. Two years of OR experience and NBSTSA/NCCT certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent military program; 2 years OR tech experience required.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.
• Meets all ST II qualifications of Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique and applies it during procedures.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during and after procedures.
• Supports the Registered Nurse circulator with patient prep and room turnover.
• Adheres to department policy and procedure.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and documents charges accurately.
