Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the NGH Operating Room team. This role supports sterile technique and assists in preoperative and intraoperative patient care, from infancy to geriatrics, under RN supervision.

The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, with a variable schedule. Requires a Surgical Technology program graduate, high school diploma, and BLS certification. Previous experience up to 12 months for level I; 12 months for level I-B preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma.
• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification is required.
• Entry-level position for new graduates or those with up to 12 months of experience.
• Surgical Technologist I‑B requires twelve months of surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains sterile field and environment.
• Prepare Operating Room with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Perform instrument counts in a safe and accurate manner.
• Take calls and rotate shifts as required under RN supervision.
• Coordinate scheduling of cases and assist with postoperative instructions.
