Qualifications

• Education: High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Associate [Preferred] Technical/Vocational School [Preferred] Field of Study: Surgical Technology
• Licensure or certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; background screening if applicable
• Experience: 2+ years technical experience in the field [Preferred] 1+ years relevant experience [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse throughout a procedure.
• Maintains high standards to facilitate cost savings and containment.
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.
• Supports customer and employee satisfaction; maintains relationships with physicians and staff; responds to complaints promptly.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any breaks in technique.
• Identifies and reports environmental concerns; ensures regulatory adherence.
• Supervises other team members and assists with orientation and training.
• Promotes a safe environment and acts in emergencies to control hazards.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines and infection control practices.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Provides assistance to surgical team and supports operating room turnover.
