Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room. This full-time position (40 hours/week) offers a mid shift from 11:00 am to 9:30 pm with limited call.

Applicants should be prepared to maintain sterile technique, assist the surgical team, and ensure instrument and room readiness. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred CST certification and BLS. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred; BLS required.
• Surgical Technology experience required; OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate surgeon and team needs while maintaining sterile technique and patient comfort.
• Assist surgeons in a knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain instruments and equipment using procedure cards.
• Inspect instruments and power equipment before use; report faulty equipment.
• Complete room turnover and ensure proper specimen handling per policy.
• Communicate delays or early completions to ensure efficient room utilization.
