Job summary

Carle Health's Surgical Technologist role in the Digestive Health Center provides clinical support for endoscopy procedures and patient care. You will assist physicians with instruments, reprocess endoscopes, and set up/tear down rooms between cases, while serving as a resource for department equipment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, hand/eye coordination and infection control knowledge.
• Independently scrubs basic surgical procedures and problem-solves in procedures.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Assists in organizing supplies and equipment to maintain an efficient department.
• Collects data and documents per RN guidance and performance standards.
• Maintains aseptic technique to keep a sterile environment and clean/dirty separation.
• Assists providers with procedures, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and stocks rooms.
• Obtains specimens and assists with inventory and restocking of supplies.
