Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or equivalent military training or 10+ years’ experience as a Surgery Technician.
• ST certification preferred.
• Demonstrate basic critical thinking and independence in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical cases by obtaining and preparing supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field and deliver instruments to the operating team.
• Act as 2nd assistant to the surgeon and assist in patient care and specimen handling.
• Clean and restock the OR/equipment post-procedure and ensure equipment is safe to use.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Surgical technologist training (CAAHEP) preferred or equivalent military training

10+ years’ experience as a Surgery Technician

ST certification preferred
