Job summary

Penn State Health – Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA seeks a full-time surgical technologist to maintain a sterile OR, prepare instrumentation for procedures, and assist the surgical team.

This role requires completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and NBSTSA certification, with opportunities for sign-on bonus and shift differentials; we offer comprehensive benefits and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and maintains a surgical technologist certification (accredited through the NBSTSA); new graduates must obtain certification within six months of graduation.
• Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Army, Navy, or Air force
• Previously employed to practice surgical technology at the hiring Penn State Health facility or similar within the two years prior to 2020-12-29

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile environment for operating room procedures.
• Prepares and passes instruments and supplies to the surgical team.
• Assists surgical team during procedures as required.
