Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Surgical Technician to support perioperative teams and ensure patient safety in the operating room. The role includes preparing supplies, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a Surgical Technology program completion, High School diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification. This on-site position offers day shifts and collaborative team environment within AdventHealth facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technology program.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse throughout a procedure.
• Maintains high standards to facilitate cost savings and containment.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction initiatives; maintains relationships with physicians and staff; responds to complaints.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any deviations immediately.
• Identifies environmental concerns and ensures policy compliance.
• Supervises other team members and assists with orientation and training.
• Promotes a safe environment and manages emergencies; controls hazards.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines and uses PPE per policy.
• Participates in quality initiatives and performance improvement activities.
