UAB Medicine seeks a Surgical Technologist at the 119 Surgery Center in Alabama. You will prepare the operating room, hand instruments to the surgeon, assist with patient prep, and help maintain instrument counts throughout procedures.

Requirements include BLS within 30 days, NBSTSA or NCCT certification within 30 days, and a high school diploma with a surgical technologist program (or 4 years of relevant experience). An associate/technical degree is preferred.

Formación

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NBSTSA within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from NCCT within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.

Educación

BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days)

Surgical Tech NBSTSA credentialed within 1 Month (30 days)

Surgical Tech NCCT credentialed within 1 Month (30 days)

High school diploma equivalency + surgical technologist program with clinical component

Minimum 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience

Associate's or technical degree preferred
