Job summary

UAB Medicine's Perioperative Services team is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub and assist the surgical team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment at our Birmingham campuses. You'll work with state-of-the-art operating rooms, contributing to patient care from pre‑op to post‑op in collaboration with surgeons and the perioperative staff.

High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent, with certification within six months of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Certified upon completion of the Surgical Technologist program or eligible to sit for certification within six months of being hired.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist surgical team during basic surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain the environment, medical equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Follow hospital regulations and industry procedures regarding patient care.
• Pre-operatively prepare patient and transport to and from the operating room.
