Job summary

Mount Carmel East is seeking a Surgical Technician to work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing patient care and maintaining the surgical field during operations.

Responsibilities include assisting the surgeon, ensuring sterile technique, supporting in department goals, and training staff as directed by the Clinical Educator. BLS required; Ohio PN license or surgical technology credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.
• Current license to practice as a practical nurse in Ohio if trained as a PN.
• BLS healthcare provider training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and maintaining the surgical field; assist the surgeon during procedures.
• Support in meeting surgery department goals such as room turnover and first-case starts on time.
• Assist in training/orientation of associates as directed by Clinical Educator.
• Maintain a safe environment and sterile techniques.
