Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will set up the surgical field, assist the surgeon during procedures, and provide patient care attentive to physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

The role requires graduation from a surgical technology program or nursing qualification, Ohio PN license if applicable, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program or licensed practical nurse (Ohio)
• Current license to practice as a practical nurse in Ohio if applicable
• BLS healthcare provider certification required

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting goals and initiatives for the surgery department, including room turnover and first-case on-time starts
• Assist in training/orientation of associates as directed by the Clinical Educator
• Maintain a safe environment for the patient
• Maintain sterile techniques

Education

Surgical technology program graduate

Ohio Practical Nurse license (if applicable)

BLS certification
