Job summary

Research Medical Center, part of the HCA Healthcare family, seeks a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join a highly skilled cardiac surgery team. You will scrub, provide instruments, and support patients throughout procedures with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist or an Associates Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or TS-C from NCCT within one year of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required upon hire.
• CVOR and endovascular/hybrid OR experience is preferred; seven years minimum.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the surgical suite with instruments and supplies for safe procedures.
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting comfort and privacy.
• Scrub in and assist the surgeon by providing instruments and handling specimens.
• Monitor equipment and patient status during procedures and respond quickly as needed.
• Maintain a sterile field and support efficient room turnover while fostering teamwork.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and organizing the surgical suite with the right instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure safe, efficient procedures

• Supporting patients with transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting their comfort, privacy, and safety

• Scrubbing in and assisting the surgeon by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the needs of the team

• Monitoring equipment and patient status throughout procedures, taking quick, effective action when needed

• Maintaining a sterile field, ensuring thorough room turnover, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist or Associates Degree in related discipline or Work Experience in Lieu of degree

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) within one year of hire.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire

• At least seven years CVOR and endovascular/hybrid operating room experience
