Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for PRN coverage. You will set up the surgical suite, assist with patient transport, scrub in, and support a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient procedures.

The role requires CST certification, BLS, and proficiency in robotic/vascular/neur0 areas; NBSTSA preferred. This position offers meaningful, flexible PRN hours within a leading HCA Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and BLS required or upon hire.
• Competence in Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment.
• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs.
• Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns.
• Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures

• Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety

• Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire.

• In addition to meeting the requirements of an OR Tech I position, must also be competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine and Vascular Surgery.
