Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in English and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient safety standards.
• Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates surgeon needs and informs circulating nurse throughout procedures.
• Maintains standards for cost containment and quality in the surgical environment.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction initiatives and maintains good relationships with physicians and staff.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects breaks in technique.
• Supervises team members in the surgical area and assists with orientation.
