Job summary

Baylor Medical Center- Irving is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 for the Day shift in the Surgery unit. The role supports the surgical team with sterile technique, instrument handling, and case preparation under RN supervision. On-call responsibilities apply.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program and CST certification, with BLS on hire or soon after. Excellent teamwork and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Active BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Less than 1 year of experience in surgical technology.
• CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT) required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instrument tables and equipment.
• Scrub in and assist surgeon during procedures.
• Ensure proper instrument counts and instrumentation readiness.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping.
• Clean and decontaminate instruments and operating room after cases.
• Follow infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
