Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision, in one of our hospitals across the network.

The Staffing Resource Office offers 13-26 week assignments with hospital placement based on system needs. Required NBSTSA certification or 5 years of experience if no certification; High School or Equivalent with Surgical Technology training; BLS; must reside within 30 minutes of a hospital.

• 1 year surgical tech experience in hospital with NBSTSA cert; or 5 years without cert
• High School or Equivalent
• Technical Diploma or Associates in Surgical Technology
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup.

Summary:
The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

The Staffing Resource Office (SRO) offers 13-26-week assignments where you are assigned to one hospital in our system. Hospital assignment placement is based on needs of the system.

High School or Equivalent and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program and 1-year surgical technician experience OR High School or Equivalent and completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

1-year surgical technology experience in hospital setting with NBSTSA certification; Or - 5 years' experience if no certification

High School or Equivalent

Technical Diploma or Associates in Surgical Technology

BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Skills also includes Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up.
