Job summary

MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, ME is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join its busy Operating Room team. The role supports the surgeon and OR RN across general, GYN, urology, ENT, eye, and orthopedic procedures.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with current BCLS certification and NBSTA certification within 6 months; prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology required.
• Current BCLS certification and NBSTA certification required within 6 months.
• Experience: One year of experience preferred.
• NH licensure requirements for NH positions if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and OR RN during surgical procedures.
• Support patient care and maintain sterile technique.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology

Current BCLS and certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

NH Med Tech License or NH EMT License with National Registry Certification

Summary:

Pen Bay Hospital operates 3 busy operating rooms, and averages 300 cases per month. Cases include general surgery, GYN, urology, ENT, eye surgery and orthopedics.

The Surgical Technologist role assists the surgeon and Operating Room (OR) RN during surgical procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology required.
• License/Certifications: Current BCLS and certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within 6 months of start date. Positions located in New Hampshire are required to have a New Hampshire Med Tech License or NH EMT License with National Registry Certification.
• Experience: One year of experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $27.27to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
