Job summary

Optim-Healthcare is seeking a part-time, PRN Surgical Technician in Savannah, GA to prepare operating rooms, assist surgeons, and ensure sterile technique. The role involves assisting in instrument counts, maintaining equipment, and supporting the surgical team under the nurse manager and OSC policies.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program, NBSTA preferred, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• NBSTA Certification as a surgical technologist preferred.
• Experience preferred but new grads will be considered.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical procedures, assembles supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Assists in clean-up of rooms between procedures and at the end of the schedule.
• Assists in monitoring and maintaining instruments, supplies, and equipment in the unit.
• Maintains proficiency in knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and asepsis standards.
• Participates in the sponge, needle, and instruments count with the circulating nurse as needed.
