Job summary

Optim is seeking a Surgical Technician to join our Savannah, GA team. The role supports surgeons, prepares the OR, and maintains sterile technique throughout procedures. The ideal candidate will have a Surgical Technologist program certificate and NBSTA certification preferred, with BLS required.

Experience is welcome but new grads are considered. The position reports to the Surgical Nurse Manager and involves full-time hours in a clinical setting with exposure to emergency scenarios and varied

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• NBSTA Certification as a surgical technologist preferred.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical procedures, assembles supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Assists in cleaning rooms between procedures and at the end of the schedule.
• Assists in monitoring and maintaining instruments, supplies, and equipment in the unit.
• Maintains proficiency in knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and asepsis standards (AORN / AAMI).
• Participates in sponge, needle, and instruments count with the circulating nurse.
• Assists physician in wound care, splints, dressings, and dressing changes.
