Capital Health in New Jersey seeks a Surgical Technician to support the surgical team across operating rooms. You will handle instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist during procedures under surgeon supervision.

No prior experience required; NJ-approved surgical tech program or graduate of an LPN with license is needed, and AHA BLS is required or to be obtained before orientation. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: NJ-approved program for surgical technicians or WFN/LPN with license.
• Experience: No prior experience required; healthcare setting preferred.
• Credentials: AHA BLS; non-licensed must obtain before orientation.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates surgeon needs by passing instruments, sutures, and items during procedures.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and ensures instruments are sterile.
• Adheres to aseptic techniques and corrects unsafe practices.
• Assists with case carts, supplies, and equipment before procedures.
• Prepares OR by opening supplies and setting up per surgeon preference.
• Performs scrub assistance and aids in patient positioning and site confirmation.
• Counts instruments/trays and initiates sterilization as needed.
• Monitors supplies in medication storage areas, including needles and syringes.
