Job summary

DISC Surgery Center in Thousand Oaks seeks a per diem Surgical Technologist to support operating rooms for spine, orthopedics, and sports medicine procedures. The role involves OR prep, skin prep, draping, sterile supply maintenance, and post-op care.

Qualifications include a accredited Surgical Technician Program graduate, 2+ years as a Surgical Technologist, and BCLS certification (or within 90 days). Schedule is varied, typically Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Successful completion of BCLS within 90 days of employment or current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation of the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Assists with skin preparations and with draping of patients.
• Assists with care, preparation, maintenance, and after-care of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment.
• Removes drapes at the end of the procedure, cleanses the patient of prep solution, and applies dressing as needed.
• Cleans and disinfects instruments and equipment after use.
• Participates in sponge, instrument, and needle count with the circulating nurse.
• Assists with stocking, replenishing, and preparation of supplies.
• Back up materials manager in placing orders for supplies.
