Job summary

DISC Surgery Center in Carlsbad, CA seeks a full-time Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our outpatient surgical team on a Monday–Friday schedule. Experience with orthopedic and spinal procedures is required, with active California RN license and current BLS/ACLS.

CNOR preferred. Responsibilities include preoperative assessments, scrubbing, circulating, administering meds, patient advocacy, and documenting care, while maintaining sterile technique and collaborating with surgeons,

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license and current BLS/ACLS certification.
• 2-3 years OR experience in acute care or surgery center.
• Orthopedic and spine procedure experience preferred.
• CNOR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments to gather patient history and risks.
• Scrub and circulate during procedures while maintaining sterile field.
• Administer medications and assist the anesthesia team as needed.
• Document all aspects of the surgical process.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and technicians to plan care.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor for complications.
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

This position will have a Monday - Friday schedule.
