Job summary

DISC Surgery Center in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a per diem Overnight PACU RN to join our outpatient spine and sports medicine team. This role focuses on monitoring postoperative patients, managing pain, and ensuring safe, comfortable recovery, with collaboration from the surgical team.

Qualified candidates hold an active RN license, BCLS/ACLS (or ability to obtain within 90 days), proficiency in airway management, and at least 2 years of acute care/PACU/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• BCLS and ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Proficiency in airway management and post-anesthesia recovery.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute care, PACU, or ICU.
• Experience documenting patient care accurately in electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients' conditions and manage their pain levels.
• Assess patients' vital signs and airways after surgery.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health records.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
