Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technician school, military trained or licensed LPN with surgical technologist experience required.
• Surgery experience.
• BLS certification (within 90 days of hire)
• Continuing education to remain competent in current standards of practice.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to assess data reflective of patient status and age-specific needs.

• Demonstrates flexibility in use of instrumentation and equipment to adapt to patient needs.
• Supports the implementation of clinical changes and evidence-based practices.
• Demonstrates knowledge of care standards reflecting professional and JACHO guidelines.
• Maintains proper isolation techniques to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Demonstrates cost awareness and efficient use of supplies and equipment.
• Keeps informed about changes in policy, procedure and equipment.
• Tailors care to meet age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient needs.
• Understanding of proper body mechanics while handling instrumentation and setting up cases.
• Protects patient confidentiality of care and treatment.
