UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves preparing the OR, passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring patient safety throughout the case.

Required are a High School Diploma or equivalent, CST certification or equivalent training, and BLS. Preferred is 1 year of surgical tech experience and neurology exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CST certification or completion of an appropriate training program required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Assist the RN circulator with preparing the operating room for the arrival of the patient.
• Select, inspect, and open surgical supplies and equipment according to the physician's preference list.
• Perform a surgical hand scrub and gown self and others.
• Create and maintain a sterile field with essential supplies and equipment; maintain aseptic technique.
• Ensure patient safety by checking all equipment prior to the procedure.
• Pass instruments and anticipate the surgeon's needs during the procedure.
• Organize and prioritize preoperative tasks and operate surgical instruments and supplies.
• Support preoperative nursing staff rotating through the service.
