Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Surgical Technician to join our Operating Room team. The role prepares the operating room, maintains sterile fields, and may scrub across general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; required within 18 months if working in Illinois.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and handle pressure with independence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field during procedures and scrub in when needed.
• May serve as 2nd, 3rd or 4th scrub in various surgical specialties.
