Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Operating Room team in Des Moines. You will prepare the OR, ensure sterility, and scrub in on a variety of general and specialty surgeries. The position offers 12-hour day shifts with full-time hours.

Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program or an LPN program with surgical experience is preferred. CST certification is a plus, with Iowa requirements as stated; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or LPN program with surgical experience.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; required within 18 months if working in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures, including instruments and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field during surgery and assist in scrubbing for general, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics cases.
